Who truly knows me?
I wake up with a smile every day. Thankful knowing today is not promised to me. I disguised my deeper roots of feeling unnoticed, ignored, rejected, and put down for many years. God has pruned the broken branches within me. Today I walk in boldness, confidence, self-love, and purpose. I never imagined I would have to elope to Hawaii with my fiancé. Escape a psychiatric hospital, dissolve my marriage based on false allegations, and deal with a tornado of events to become the person I am today. My storms have leveraged me to new heights in my life. I love the new me. I hope my story inspires you not to feel like a victim but an overcomer.
my Background
I was born and raised Catholic on November 28, 1975. I graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Business Computer Information Systems. I took Jewish studies as an elective class and grew my faith in reading the Torah. At the age of 26, I began my relationship with Christ and got baptized at Centerpoint Christian Church. Being baptized was my way of telling God I want to leave my old ways behind and follow the Lord to the best of my ability, as I’m perfectly imperfect.
inspiration for my Memoir
After my divorce, I needed to start a new chapter in my life, so I moved from New York to Florida and opened up a second wig store. I had too much idle time on my hands, as it takes time to build a clientele, so I told God, “Now what?“ I heard a whisper in my head, “Start your book.” I was blown away. “Wow, really, great idea!” My life felt like a movie, so I wanted to share my story of how I evolved with the storms of life as a stronger individual, from sensitive and insecure to fearless, after I escaped the mental hospital on false allegations.
